The Namena barrier reef system is home to a remarkable variety of rare species of fish, invertebrate, and coral species. And we also have a bunch of amazing changes coming soon!
The Bad News!!! In February 2016 the eye of Cyclone Winston passed directly over Namena. Buildings were destroyed. All the leaves left the island. Trees were knocked down in the strongest winds ever recorded in the Southern hemisphere. The island was a mess. Miraculously, the scuba diving was left almost intact. Namena still boasts the best diving In Fiji.
The Good News
Starting with a clean canvas, the island was completely redesigned. We were allowed to develop 10 acres of the 110 acre island leaving the other 100 acres as a bird sanctuary. We are happy to report that the island was green again within a year and the the Red-footed boobies, the man of wars, and the tropic birds all returned.
More Good News
Five new structures capable of withstanding 190 mile per hour winds will replace our previous accommodations. We have also received permission to build ten one and two bedroom units on the beach along with a new beach clubhouse.

New Accommodations
Fifteen brand-new units are being built to provide maximum views and air flow and are designed to provide exceptional comfort and privacy.
VIP Treatment
Guests arriving at Savusavu will now have a twin-turbine helicopter ride and be at their destination in 10 minutes. Eliminating the need for lengthy boat-rides.
Fresh Pools
We are adding two large pools and one adult-only dipping pool located at the apex of the resort.
Unparalleled Diving
The resort has 4 dive boats allowing divers and snorkelers to be divided into smaller groups based on their respective skill levels.
